STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Mayor Michael Bloomberg did not offer a comment on the George Zimmerman verdict itself Sunday. Instead, he lashed out at the Florida law that he said provoked the confrontation that left Trayvon Martin dead.
"Sadly, all the facts in this tragic case will probably never be known," Bloomberg said in a prepared statement Sunday. "But one fact has long been crystal clear: 'shoot first' laws like those in Florida can inspire dangerous vigilantism and protect those who act recklessly with guns."
He blamed "gun lobby extremists in Washington" for drafting the laws and said the legislation lets armed citizens think it's OK to shoot first and later defend themselves on the grounds that it was a justifiable homicide."
Bloomberg touted his work with other civic leaders on the issue and said they are seeking to eliminate such laws in Florida and elsewhere: "The tragic death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed child attempting to walk home from the store, will continue to drive our efforts," he said.
Lord help me! How can we have two sides that see things so differently? GZ might have stayed in his truck had he known the consequences to follow but the evidence proves he was fighting for his life. Another thing, the liberal left keeps referring to Trayvon as a child when he was bigger and stronger than GZ.
Bloomberg wants to live in his ivory tower and dispense his stupid advice to rest of us mortals that live in the real world.
It's a thorn in his side, and Obama's, that they can't disarm all of us. Of course, without the gun, GZ would probably be dead but that's immaterial to the ones that just want vengeance.

That struck me last night and today as well, I've been reading more than a few articles about what the other side is saying and it really became crystal clear (not that it hasn't before, but more for some reason) that there are really two completely different (radically oppositional) world views active in today's society.

Why do these idiot politicians and tinhorn wannabe dictators feel the need to opine on this?
The only comment that ANY elected official (any responsible one, that is) should have would go something like this: "As far as the Zimmerman trial goes, he has been tried in a court of law and the jury has spoken. THAT IS MY ONLY COMMENT ON THE MATTER."

It's becoming more and more obvious every day. Might be getting to the danger point..

Somebody should ask him,"Hey,numbnuts! What happens to people that "shoot second"? Have you ordered the NYPD and your body guards to "shoot second"? If not,why not?

Because he owns that Mayors Against Gun Violence" (or whatever the hell it's legal name is),and he makes a LOT of money from contributions and federal and state grants.
In other words,he's making money from it and doesn't even have to arm or pay his own bodyguards.

'Shoot second' laws result in the deaths of innocents. Many occur in New York City, though most are caused by 'Shoot not at all' laws, 'cause nobody can get a gun permit [that includes rifles and shotguns] in NYC, and the poison dwarf won't loan out his security detail.

Not true. Donald Trump has a NYC CCW permit. So does Joan Rivers,Harry Connick Jr and Di-Fi,even though the last two aren't even NYC residents.
Basically, anybody wealthy and connected has no trouble at all getting a CCW permit in NYC. Even if they don't even live in NY state.
