WASHINGTON -- Republican Sen. John McCain says he will block Gen. Martin Dempsey's nomination for a second term as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

McCain told reporters Thursday he was frustrated with Dempsey's response toward the end of his confirmation hearing when he pressed the general about his personal opinion on Syria. He is seeking additional answers.

The Arizona lawmaker said he would put a hold – essentially block – the nomination from moving forward in the Senate.

What really has McCain's panties in a bunch is that he is invested in the Syrian Rebels and Dempsey is not arming them fast enough and not publicly getting behind them so this makes John look bad because after all he went all the way over their for a photo-op with the rebels and it is not going well for them so John is going to do what is good for John and what ever makes John look good--that is why has went to huffpo and acted as if he was being tough when he in fact does not want the Rebels to lose it will make John look Bad
