Rallies planned in 100 cities to urge 'justice' for Trayvon Martin

(CNN) -- Faye Kennedy is organizing a rally Saturday in Sacramento, California, despite a forecast of more than 100 degrees. She is urging people to bring water.

But she is determined that it will draw a good crowd as one of more than 100 cities nationwide marking "National Justice for Trayvon Day."

The Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network said the goal of the rallies is to urge the Justice Department to consider a federal civil rights prosecution in the death of Trayvon Martin.

George Zimmerman, a Hispanic man, shot the African-American teenager on February 26, 2012. He claimed self-defense, and a Florida jury acquitted him July 13.

Zimmerman had a confrontation with Martin after calling police to report a suspicious person. The case became a flashpoint in debates over racial profiling.

Kennedy, who is active in the Sacramento Area Black Caucus, said she got an e-mail from Sharpton's organization promoting Saturday's event. She jumped in to organize a rally at the federal courthouse.

Flashback: Obama Fundraiser-In-Chief For Sharpton Group

As Americans watch the Saturday protests across the nation with shouts of "Justice For Trayvon!" and "No Justice, No Peace," they'll probably be wondering where all the money came from to support the organizational effort needed for the 100-city effort. Al Sharpton's National Action Network is the driving force behind the marches and their highest-profile fundraiser was keynoted by none other than President Barack Obama.

In April 2011, after raising millions of dollars on the East Coast for his re-election campaign, President Obama was the featured speaker at the 20th Anniversary "Keepers of the Dream" gala awards dinner as part of the National Action Network convention.

Fresh off his big DNC fundraising visit to Harlem this week, President Obama is set to return to New York City on Wednesday, April 6, as a featured speaker at the Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network yearly bash.

The president will appear at National Action Network’s "Keepers of the Dream Gala" at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers.

Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett was already scheduled to attend the event, speaking at the NAN Women's Power Luncheon...

..."He angered many with his team's clumsy attempt to push then-Gov. David Paterson out of the 2010 gubernatorial race, and he rankled others by suggesting Rep. Charles Rangel resign after the congressman was censured for ethics violations last fall."

By appearing at the NAN event, Obama again appears to be making a move to shore up his visibility (and popularity) among African-American voters and Democrats as he gears up for his re-election bid.

The convention and the dinner are a key part of the groups fundraising efforts and the income derived goes to their operational budget to support marches like today's.

The useful idiots marching for Trayvon do not recognize justice when they see it played out in a televised trial.

They're really hoping for some new stuff today. Maybe some new sneakers & televisions will satisfy them. Any excuse to loot and plunder what belongs to someone else.

We know what this is, right?

Remember when the most recent shootings were used for political purposes, and the coordinated attack on gun-laws efforts appeared to have been pre-planned and just "waiting for the right tragedy" to exploit? Media, community organizers, and leftist government elites working together (and, as we also know that effort is merely quiescent right now, and far from dead)?

This has that feeling to it, but rather than gun laws it is being used to define, establish and foment class and racial divisions. That's why they can't give up on Trayvon and the "white hispanic". Hell, for all we know, the fact that he also has some hispanic identity is a good thing in the fomenting business.
