A Melbourne man was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison Thursday for threatening to kill President Barack Obama, the U.S. Attorney´s Office said. Christopher Castillo, 28, posted a comment on Facebook stating that if Obama were re-elected he would hunt him down and kill him. After the U.S. Secret Service learned about the online threats, they visited Castillo. When interviewed by agents, Castillo admitted to making the comments. During his trial, jurors had to decide if the comment was a true threat or simply empty and idle words. The panel convicted Castillo in early February.
I just don't get it. If they (the secret service/judicial system) thought it was a sincere threat that he intended on following through with,he needs a long spell in a mental hospital, not 15 months in prison.
If they thought he was just running his mouth and had no serious intention of following through with any threat I would think 30 to 60 days in a local jail would be enough to send the message that there are better ways to blow off steam than threaten the life of a president. Even if he had to serve it on weekends.
Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012)

I never assume that justice cannot be capricious and enforced counter to common sense.
"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson
"If people can’t trust not only the executive branch but also don’t trust Congress, and don’t trust federal judges, to make sure that we’re abiding by the Constitution with due process and rule of law, then we’re going to have some problems here." - Barack Obama, June 7, 2013

what about all the people who threatened to kill George Zimmerman? Is Obama the only one protected by this law?
What about all the lefties that threatened to kill Boy Jorge, most of whom were black? Did you ever hear of any of THEM being arrested?
Then again,Boy Jorge had Cheney as his VP,and Barry Soetoro has Uncle Joe Biden.
I guess given those circumstances, you would HAVE to take threats against Barry more seriously.
Picking Uncle Joe as his VP was the smartest thing Barry ever did. It practically made him bulletproof.
