I don't mind in the least helping them out with the brain part.

Actually that isn't the case here. The contract was not valid per state law and the State of Kansas made them give the name of the father since they applied for state benefits. Most welfare departments require the father's name to get benefits. Bottom line is they failed to ensure the contract was legal.

Well the changing of the mind I was referring to was the fact that the birth mother divorced her lesbian friend [probably not married to begin with], went to the "dark side" and took up with a man!!! Did I read the story wrong? So at some point she falls on hard times I guess and now she needs State aid. Well that put a legal strain on their original verbal agreement with mr donor.

Life gets complicated when you make poor choices. That's what I've noticed, time and time again.

Doubtful. If they did, she'd probably be suing the baster for support too.

Eight children are mentioned in this story. How could the lesbian couple afford the eight children and at what point should they have started noticing that they couldn't properly care for eight?
