John Boehner is scared conservatives are beginning to gain traction on the issue of defunding Obamacare. How do I know?
David Winston is rigging a poll to get some desired results.
Winston is a John Boehner adviser and his preferred pollster. In fact, internally, some Republicans grouse that Beohner uses Winston to direct his lead on issues instead of just . . . well, you know. . . leading.
Check out David Winston’s poll question.
ZitatIn a national survey of 1,000 registered voters done July 31 and August 1, the question, from pollster David Winston, said, “Some members of Congress have proposed shutting down the government as a way to defund the president’s health care law” and asked respondents whether they favored or opposed that plan.
Ted Cruz has not proposed shutting down the government.
Mike Lee has not proposed shutting down the government.
Congressman Meadows has not proposed shutting down the government.
In fact, everyone who supports defunding Obamacare has been very clear that they’ll vote for a continuing resolution, just not for Obamacare funding. If the government shuts down over that, it would be Barack Obama insisting his health care plan nobody wants gets funded.
The GOP Leaders have placed themselves in a no-win situation. It is not of conservative doing. They have refused to fight on Obamacare despite rhetoric otherwise and then gone out and pre-emptively spun against themselves any government shutdown.
This is all John Boehner’s doing. And, like his debt ceiling deal, it will probably blow up in his face.
Boy. This buddy of Drunk Johnny is a real piece of work. Just look at the mission statement at his push polling companies website...

Not a single one of them is even close to where the base of the party is or even moderates for that matter. These are the people Boehner is listening to on policy issues. Hilarious.
They endorsed shutting it down. Eric Ericson is fond of using his own set of facts
Government shutdowns are nothing new - they occurred several times in the 80s alone. In the hands of skilled political fanatics like democrats and their media cohorts, the threat - or the actual implementation - of government shutdowns are an effective tool with which to battle enemies (i.e. conservatives), beating them into submission.
But, like a Smith and Wesson revolver in the hands of a toddler, the same powerful tool in the hands of political neophytes (i.e. republicans) leads to explosive situations resulting in tragedies.

First off, they haven't proposed shutting down the govt'. They are proposing to not fund Zerocare. Funding of everything else will take place. The result of not funding Zerocare COULD be a full shut down, but that isn't their proposal. Huge differences. Secondly, your two pieces you cite from Communists and devout Leftists don't even say that Cruz and Lee WANT to shut down the govt'. They merely state that it may be a result from not funding that specific part of the CR. Also, Cruz specifically cites what Erickson is pointing out in his piece about Boehners buddies push polling firm....
Cruz was challenged by a reporter from the conservative Weekly Standard, who asked whether defunding Obamacare was good idea when polls showed people believed it would shut down government. Cruz's answer was that first, polls can't be trusted - they're often "designed to make an advocacy point," Cruz said, Slate reports. And second, if Americans don't like a government shutdown, Republicans should just blame it on Obama.
Conservatives have to learn not to let the Dem mouthpieces put words in their mouth. Whenever someone says "shutdown" they have to say "what shutdown? The military, Social Security and all necessary services will continue to be fully funded in the event the continuing resolution is not passed and we actually have to write a budget"
So, yeah, I blame Cruz and Lee for letting someone put words in their mouth.
