This is a great interview by Ted Cruz today where he first address the ‘silly season’ around his birth certificate but then moves on to discuss defunding Obamacare. Candy Crowley tells Cruz that Obama will never sign a bill that defunds Obamacare, but Cruz says that while she may be convinced of that, he’s not.
He's just saying that to give the appearance he believes Obama has an honest interest in the country.
He is finally addressing the argument that its Obama, not the GOP, threatening to shut down the govt. but other than that he sounded like any politician with his version of fedspeak.
Quote: Weird Tolkienish Figure wrote in post #4Um, double negative... so what he means is that he thinks it's possible Obama might vote to defund Obamacare?
I'd sure like to see that.
It might be useful to compare Zero and Xlinton here.
Post 1994, when faced with a GOP Congress, Xlinton (being the slippery and shrewd pol that he was/is) moved to the political center. He was then able to take credit (with the media's help, of course) for anything positive that happened.
I submit it is impossible to Zero to move to the center. He (unlike Xlinton, who was a politician first and foremost) is at heart a Marxist college professor. Unfortunately for us, however, he's a college professor who's been given the proverbial "keys to the kingdom" and the opportunity to impose his ideology on the rest of us.
He would commit suicide before renouncing ANY item on his agenda. Even if he's the only one remaining in the country who believes in it.
The last man nearly ruined this place he didn't know what to do with it. If you think this country's bad off now, just wait 'til [Zero's] through with it. ~Rufus T. Firefly, paraphrased from the blockbuster 1933 hit "Duck Soup"
