Rep. Peter King (R-NY) went off on the Republican Party this morning for not passing legislation last night to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy. After the fiscal cliff vote late last night the House was adjourned before a vote was taken on Hurricane Sandy relief – a bill that was loaded with unrelated pork projects for several states. King told New Yorkers to cut off donations to Republicans.
“They’re in New York all the time filling their pockets with money from New Yorkers. I’m saying right now, anyone from New York and New Jersey who contributes one penny to Congressional Republicans is out of their mind. Because what they did last night was put a knife in the back of New Yorkers and New Jerseyians. It was an absolute disgrace… And why Republicans have this bias against New York, this bias against New Jersey, this bias against the Northeast. They’re wondering why they’re becoming a minority party? Why they’re going to be a party of the permanent minority? What they did last night was so immoral, so disgraceful, so irresponsible. They’re supposed to be the party of family values? Yet families are starving, are suffering… I’ve had it. As far as I am concerned I’m on my own. They’re going to go a long way to get my vote on anything.“
Why can't they just do a bill that is specific to the needs of the impact zone? Why must these corrupt leeches add all that unrelated spending to the bill?
I haven't donated to the GOP for several years but one of the main reasons is the impact that these NE RINOs have had on the party.
I feel sorry for the poor people left homeless after the hurricane but I saw very little being done by themselves or their state and local officials...
Such as Bloomberg who is still more concerned about the size of drinks, salt in fast food, and gun control. You can't blame the GOP that those people elect idiots who are control freaks with crazy priorities.
They believed that Obama would be to their rescue within days. "You reap what you sow." I can't stand Christie but he seems to have done a much better job in NJ than the NY offcials have done. NY has seemed totally unorganized from day one.
There are times when "red necks" are needed to get things done. NY has a shortish of "red necks" ...with chain saws.
Hilarious Pete. The amount of donations to the GOP from the Sandy states equals about $38 and a ham sandwich. Why don't you take your pork laden bill and cram it up your ass. I don't feel like paying for a bunch of Blue State Obamabots to get more handouts.
