Congress, last night, Oct. 16, passed a Democrat plan to increase our debt to $17 trillion to the cheers of the bankers, Chinese, government bureaucrats and the establishment media, who unlike the old media never ask probing questions. We were told we were going to default if the debt ceiling wasn’t raised? Was it spelled out how? Failing to incur more debt should not cause a default, and if it does then our economy and way of life is in far more danger than is being reported.
Was it noted that our debt has tripled since Clinton left office with a third of that increase coming in Obama’s first term? How many stories did you see showing the debt passed 100 percent of our Gross Domestic Product for the first time in history last December?
And how about all the stories they failed to run pointing out that for 150 days the debt stood at $16.699 trillion?

That's an important point. If we can't give the GOP House members who voted for this a pass we are toast.
Maybe, maybe not. It all depends on the voter mood next cycle, and part of that depends on the candidates. If JEB Bush or some other insider weasel is the presidential candidate,it's all over anyhow,so why not vote all the bastards out? Continuing to vote for these traitors sure hasn't been working.
On the other hand,if we get REALLY lucky and some fire-breathing conservative candidate wins the Republican nomination it would fire up the people who do pay attention to politics and current events to get inspired again,as well as bring in the "he/she looks good on teebee, think I'll vote for them." crowd.
I see this government shutdown as a effort by the Dims and the alleged Republicans as an attempt to prevent conservatives from making any more advances and even an attempt to get the few still in office voted out.
After all,we all know how the voting public (other than on the left coast and northeast) responds to a genuine conservative candidate and they want to nip this in the bud if they can.
Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012)

Dang. I really, really, really don't want to say this, but you have a point too.
