Educating children about life is up to the parents. Its the parents who teach the children values. That is..if the parent actually TALKS to their children. While bringing up my children, I talked to them..so they learned what I taught..no matter what they were taught in school. I have also talked to some of my grandkids. If parents sit back and let these schools take over..its their fault..however their kid turns out. We are our childrens first teachers and their teachers throughout their lives. If your kid loves and respects you and you take the time to teach them..or unteach what the school is ramming down their throats..you wont have anything to worry about.

AMEN!
I have always been astounded that people who call themselves "conservatives" can blame the schools for the nonsense their children learn there, and NOT take responsibility for asking their kids what they learned and then explaining reason to them.
They are YOUR kids, and YOU are the one with the responsibility to raise them to be independent and productive citizens. No one has that responsibility, the government least of all.
Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012)
My daughter has 7 kids. (the other 2 have 3 each). The one with the 7 has the oldest kids. If these kids ask the mother something she doesnt know..she tells them...ask grandma. I had to explain the depression to one..during her first year of college (for a report). I was able to put it in terms she could understand first. Then I found her articles to read, where with a little teaching..she was able to understand. She got an A. I have talked to a few of them about Obama..and had this talk with their only son..it was something like me telling him I would break both his legs if thought he might want to enter the military. Not under this president. In that same conversation..I looked to the 2 mute parents..and asked if there was something wrong with the minds and mouth. Why am I having to have this conversation with this kid? PS..that was a couple of years ago...and by the time I was done with him..he quickly changed his mind..lol I think my daughter purposely tells me things..because she feels like I have a better way with words than she does..lol
Anyway..if parents care about their kids (or grandkids) they need to keep talking. School is a place where they should learn to read, write and add. Anything else you want your kids to know..you need to teach it to them yourself.
