While there may be many democrats that do not LIKE abortion, it doesn't follow that they view it as murder.

Your statement implies that voters are schizophrenic - i.e. how can someone go so far as to say a particular act is MURDER, but at the same time say " . . . but I shouldn't judge"

If you're correct (and you well might be), then it's all over anyway.

You pinged @sneakypete and I'm sure he'll check in. I won't presume to speak for him, other than to say he is "hard core" when it comes to having a low opinion of people of faith. How many votes he represents in the overall demographic is anyone's guess.

But I'll speak to libertarians in general: Some are hostile toward religion and some are indifferent toward religion. The fact that they are libertarians (and not Ds or Rs) tends to suggest they look at each candidate ON THE ISSUES (and not the ones like abortion and contraception that democrats push on LIVs)

How could that possibly be?

Simple. The District was full of gays and full of Republican Cubans. The Republican Cubans cared far more about lower taxes, pro-business practices and screwing over Castro than they cared about whether Adam and Steve were screwing each other. Adam and Steve cared far more about screwing each other than defending Castro. In addition the gays don’t really like being taxed and they are smart business people.

Along comes REPUBLICAN Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen: Foreign policy conservative. Fiscal conservative. Does not stick her nose into Adam’s and Steve’s sex life and treats Adam and Steve just as if they were Roberto and Maria.

Result: Gay as Versace South Beach sent REPUBLICAN Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen back to Congress TWELVE straight times. If she had not been redistricted, it would have been 13 straight times.

There has been a huge generational change in America. Outside of the Bible Belt, the majority of Americans simply DO NOT CARE if Adam and Steve are gay or not.
