To a Cuban Catholic, whether or not Adam and Steve would be truly "married" is up to the Catholic Church to decide (The answer is, "No, Adam and Steve are not really marrtied in the eyes of the Catholic Church") so why drag the Bible and religion into a tax rights and inheritance rights issue between Andam and Steve and the State of Florida like those Bible Belt Protestants do?

The religious right is going after a popular South Florida congresswoman.

It�s not the one you�re thinking.

The Christian Family Coalition excoriated U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen on Thursday:

Florida Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R) has embarrassed and ridiculed herself by tragically becoming the first Republican to co-sponsor on a socially destructive and totally undemocratic bill to repeal the bipartisan Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) that respects marriage at the Federal level.

If the State of Florida ever wants to declare Adam and Steve "married", why should the Republican Party in Florida be forced to champion the cause of Alabama Bible-Thumpers?

Whatever happened to the Tenth Amendment? As Governor Rick Perry pointed out in the debates, whatever Texas decides to do in regards to gay marriage is none of Massachusetts' business and whatever Massachusetts decides to do in regards to gay marriage is none of Texas' business. For that, the religious Right crucified Perry in the GOP Primaries just like they want to crucify Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. As a result, come the general election, even Mitt Romney is hurt by the GOP "brand" that has left the majority of voters in America believing that the GOP is the party that wants to control sex.

Back in 1953, (when "House Detectives" ensured that you were actually married to the girl in your hotel room and laws considered heterosexual oral sex illegal "sodomy') a political party could get away with such conduct because the majority of American voters were the sexual Puritans that the Baby Boomer Generation rebelled against.

Today, in 2013, outside of the Bible Belt, most Americans are as tolerant of the Bible Belt Protestants screaming about "Sin" as Bible Belt Protestants are tolerant of Mormon missionaries ringing their door bell and shoving the Book of Mormon in their face.

As I said, this ain't Granpa's America anymore. This ain't even Garndpa's Bible Belt any more. Attitudes have changed and the majority of American's are turned off by a party that wants to cram 1950's Bible Belt standards down other people's throats ........ Except for Sarah Palin's grandkids because, .... "Hey! ...... That's different because the pre-marital sex and sex out of wedlock that was highly condemned in the Bible Belt in 1953 is now O.K. because .... Well, ..... Times have changed. ......... Do you really think that you can find a 21 year old virgin at the University of Alabama? ......... Except for Adam and Steve! They are SINNERS!"

If Adam and Steve are fiscal conservatives, pro-small business and want ObamaCare repealed, why should Republican Florida Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen care if hey want to get "married" and why should the GOP piss off South Florida voters to please the religious Right in Alabama?

Plus,the Industrial Age provided plenty of manufacturing jobs for the farmers who were displaced for one reason or another. A win/win situation for everybody.

Now,for all intents and purposes,the Industrial Age is OVER. Those highly paid manufacturing and union jobs are long gone to Asia,and they ain't coming back. Ever. In fact,within 20 years or so they won't even exist in China.

As I have said before,the Industrial Age is over due to the advancements in electronics and technology. Most obvious is the 3-D Printer.

Just last week there was a perfect example of just how far this has already advanced when there was a news story on tv about a boy maybe 8 years old that had been born without a hand on one arm. He had just a stub of a hand,but no fingers. His father did a lot of research on this subject and came up with a software program designed by one guy in Sweden (I think. Could have been Norway) and another guy in South Africa. He contacted them and told them he wanted to make a hand for his son,and they gave him the software for free.

He bought a 3-D printer big enough for his needs for $2,000,and for what he guessed to be $8-10 in materials,printed out a working hand for his son made out of blue and green plastic. For the first time in his life his son can now pick up things with that hand and do almost everything else a typical boy his age can do. All this for roughly $2010,000,and he did it at home.

Think about the meaning of this for a minute. Need a new coffee pot or tv? No problem,buy and download a software package from the internet,and just print it out right there at home.

Now....,think about the result this is going to have on jobs for blue-collar workers and apprentices or helpers. The obvious answer is "Other than people like delivery drivers to deliver the plastic,there won't be any/"

NOW....,what happens when there are healthy young men sitting around all day with no work to do,and no prospects of any work to do in the future. What do they do? Hold prayer meetings? Play Yatzhee? Go to Yoga classes?

Nope,they dream up mischief to keep themselves busy and to amuse themselves.

NOW,what happens when there are 50 or more MILLION of these young men and young women sitting around at government feed centers with nothing to do all day but wait for the Soylent Green spigots to be turned on so they can eat.

NOW you truly know why every government in the world is desperately trying to hire more police and disarm their populations.

Once again there are going to be 3 groups of citizens. The Uber wealthy on the top who can have all the children they want because they are in power and they can afford to feed and educate them,the lucky working class who lucked out and got jobs with public utilites,as truck drivers,repair men,etc,etc,etc. ALL these jobs will be controlled by the ruling class,and if you are a trouble maker you won't get one. The fortunate few who DO get these jobs will maybe be allowed to have 2 children. If the woman gets pregnant again,she will be forced to abort. Period. She may even face mandatory sterilization after giving birth to the second child.

Then you have the unfortunate many,who for one reason or another couldn't get a job,and all they do is sit around in public housing waiting for somebody to feed and water them. You can bet your ass that mandatory sterilization is going to be a part of the agreement they make to insure they keep getting fed and watered.

There just ain't no way the world can afford to let the general populations to continue to breed without restrictions because there just isn't going to be a big demand in the future for laborers.

And it doesn't matter a bit if you and I like this idea of not because it WILL happen. It will happen because it HAS to happen to avoid mass famines and daily riots with out of control crime.

And this ain't even addressing the longer lifespan that people living today will enjoy thanks to genetic engineering and nano-technology.

So a South Florida Republican is not as Politically Puritanically Pure as a rural Deep South Congressman. So what? That is the American reality. In most American Congressional districts, a rural Deep South Congressman would would be defeated.

NEVER has the Deep South Political Purity been able to impose its will, BY ITSELF, upon the rest of America. In 1968, in Miami, as a kid who took the bus up Lejeune Road to Miami International Airport to see Richard Nixon land for the Republican convention, I shook the hands of both Richard Nixon and Strom Thurmond within 5 minutes of each other. In 1948, when Strom Thurmond tried to cram Deep South Political Puritanism down America's throat with the Dixiecrats, the Deep South crashed and burned. In 1968, in coalition with the old Party of Lincoln, Strom Thurmond ended up on the winning side. It is an irony of History that the Deep South that joined Northern Republicans in 1968 is now lecturing Northern Republicans about who is a "RINO" and who is a "real" Republican.

In regards to "radical gay right advocate", what dog do you have in that fight?

If the State of Florida wants to give Adam and Steve certain tax rights and inheritance rights, what business is that of yours if you do not even live in Florida? What business is it of the GOP?

Why are you so emotionallly invested in the sex life of perfect strangers?

In 1953, a good answer would have been, "Because they are SINNERS and SIN cannot be tolerated in America!"

However, in 1953, getting a B.J. from your own wife was legally considered "sodomy" in the South. Times have changed and the majority of Americans no longer tolerate the Government or Bible-Thumping Protestant strangers in the bedroom unless a hooker or a child is involved.

Would you like to share how many times, within the past 2 months, you have engaged in conduct that would have constituted illegal "sodomy" back in 1953? Why should it be any of my business or anybody else's business? It's not.

The U.S. cultural tipping point has been reached where, to the majority of American voters, obsessing about other people's sex live is just plain creepy (unless, of course, it is within the context of the voyeurism of Reality TV and People Magazine). The bottom line is that that is now a guranteed way to lose general elections.

And,the various Christian and Jewish faiths of the Old and New Testaments are LEFT-WING when it comes to politics. They are all about tribalism and sharing.Maybe not with those or other tribes or viewpoints,but certainly with each other. In theory,anyway.

So Rufus high tailed it to an even purer conservative forum, in which even thinking the tea party might be wrong is a bannable offense?

This too will prove to be too impure for the absolute purist brigade and that will splinter itself.
