Senator Rand Paul's Son Arrested at Charlotte Airport
By JOSH HASKELL Jan. 6, 2013
The 19-year-old son of Sen. Rand Paul and grandson of former presidential candidate Ron Paul was arrested Saturday morning for allegedly being intoxicated at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport.
William Hilton Paul arrived in Charlotte, N.C., on a U.S. Airways flight from Lexington, Ky., where his father is a U.S. senator.
According to Lt. Blake Hollar with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Paul was intoxicated when he arrived at the airport and said "he was possibly served alcohol on the flight."
The teenager was arrested by police and booked into the Mecklenburg County Jail, charged with three misdemeanors: underage consumption, disorderly conduct, and being intoxicated and disruptive.
While in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, reports say William Hilton Paul identified himself as the son of Sen. Rand Paul.
On Sunday evening, Rand Paul's Communications Director Moira Bagley released a statement to ABC News asking for "privacy and respect" regarding the incident.
The kid was served drinks on the plan that lead to his intoxication and he is the one in jail? Man. That lawsuit the Pauls are going to win against US Scare will certainly give Rand some spending money when he goes and runs for President in '16.

It's illegal to be intoxicated at an airport? Obviously while driving sure, but not even driving? I know many people who have to be intoxicated to even set foot upon an airplane.

Being loaded at the airport ain't the problem. Being 2 years younger than the legal drinking age loaded at the airport is a problem. The cops take a dim view on that stuff.
What happened to the days when they'd just call his parents? Yeah I know, he's over 18 but having an alcohol conviction on his record forever beause of a stupid day in his late teens. Sounds like perhaps he was being disruptive (was charged with being disruptive), stupid teenager doing stupid thing will follow him and especially because his dad and grandpa are well-known. There is no privacy at all these days.
