Like most of you, I've bought insurance policies over the years. My understanding is that you are covered after you fill out an application and pass some kind of underwriting.
Most importantly, your application does not go to underwriting until you present the agent or company with a payment, usually the first month's premium.
"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson
"If people can’t trust not only the executive branch but also don’t trust Congress, and don’t trust federal judges, to make sure that we’re abiding by the Constitution with due process and rule of law, then we’re going to have some problems here." - Barack Obama, June 7, 2013
None of this is important...website, costs, blah blah blah.
What IS important is the destruction of the old system so we would have to submit to government control. That's the reason Sebelius, Obama, et al are so nonchalant.
Eventually everyone will figure it out but since we will all be Soylent Green by then it won't matter.
Death panels, anyone?

Ya know, I lived thru the 50s, 60s and 70s, when most people didnt have insurance and those who did, just had hospital/doctor coverage. We paid everything else, ourselves. Also, people didnt have to go to the doctors constantly, like they do now. Half of this is the patients fault, the other half is the doctors fault. Take me for instance. I take cholesterol meds. Every 3 months or so, I am supposed to have my blood tested. The last time it was tested, I was informed that my levels were much, much better (no numbers given and I couldnt care less). With that, I was told, make an appt for another test in 3 months and an appt for a follow up visit. Um...why? If it is improved..and we assume it will be the same or better in 3 months, since I am still on the blasted pills...why do I have to go there..and sit in the waiting room for 2 hours? There is absolutely NO reason for that.
I cannot tell you how many tests my husband had for nothing..over stupid crap. One..was a stomach ache..coming and going. Instead of offering some med for gas or a laxative first..or asking questions about diet, etc. the doctor sends him off to a gastro doctor. Test this, test that test the other..this was going on for a couple of months. And the wife (me) said to the husband..stop eating all of those GD nuts every night. Nuts are hard to digest and can cause stomach aches. PS..they found nothing wrong with him..but his stomach aches were long gone, by the time they made that conclusion..because finally..he stopped with the nuts!!!!!
People abuse..the doctors abuse..and then they want to know how we got to whats going on today.
People might jump all over me, but I almost never go to the doctor.
I will go next year to get the whole shebang checked - thyroid, hormones, etc., because I feel rotten - but then after Doc gets me on track I probably won't go for another 5 years.
I am a perfect candidate for some sort of reasonable catastrophic plan in case I got cancer. Who knows, maybe after Obamacare falls apart the PTB will come up with one.
If they don't I guess I will die young if I don't take care of myself to the best of my ability.
But this going to the doctor every 5 minutes for everything under the sun is crazy, IMHO.

Truthkeeper..I am just like you. I can count on one hand, my doctor visits, since I had my children (and my youngest is 40). Then, I went to the dr for one thing..and they hook you in with these pills that they like to give everybody.
In a way, I am glad I finally went...because at least I have a doctor now..with at least some chance of keeping her. If I waited until this obamacare..who knows if this doctor would still be taking patients...although, I used her father, before her..so she knows us..and my husband had been using her.
I'm the same as you TK. I haven't been to a doctor in over 15 years, if t doesn't hurt I don't need a doctor telling me how to fix it. Since we're not getting any younger we are looking into catastrophic as well.
