Forbes.com is claiming American poor don’t exist and is basing the claim on this study by the Brookings Institution.
That’s right, there is no poor in the United States. The war on poverty is over. We won.
Of course, Brookings, a liberal-leaning think tank that is called most influential in the world, doesn’t really say it that way. In fact, it claims that “millions of Americans live on less than $2 a day — a threshold commonly used to measure poverty.”
Forbes, however, rebuts it pointing out income, as officially defined, is a bad metric as it does not account for the various government subsidies provided such as SNAP and Section 8 housing vouchers.
More significantly, it points out that the $2 a day standard when applied to developing countries is based on consumption, not income.
This is very true. America is one of the very few places in the world were people who live in houses with central air and heat, get free food, free clothing, free medial care, free utilities, free cell phones and minutes, and a check each month to party on consider themselves to be poor.

Yeah, but you can always count on jealousy to get the people to the polls. All you have to do is convince them that somebody somewhere has more of anything than they do,and they get fired up right then and want to organize lynching parties.
The Dims know this. In fact, their whole party is organized around this concept.

JM, you are forgetting. The left doesn't care about the poor. All it wants is power and money and it tells these lies to get it. The people who read the old media are still going to believe that there are millions of poor in this country desperately in need of more government programs.
