Yesterday, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and city officials unveiled a new initiative to limit supplies of prescription painkillers in the city’s emergency rooms as a way to combat what they described as a growing addiction problem in the region. ------ The city hospitals we control, so … we’re going to do it and we’re urging all of the other hospitals to do it, voluntary guidelines. Somebody said, oh, somebody wrote, ‘Oh then maybe there won’t be enough painkillers for the poor who use the emergency rooms as their primary care doctor,’” the mayor said on his weekly radio show with John Gambling. “Number one, there’s no evidence of that. Number two, supposing it is really true, so you didn’t get enough painkillers and you did have to suffer a little bit. The other side of the coin is people are dying and there’s nothing perfect … There’s nothing that you can possibly do where somebody isn’t going to suffer, and it’s always the same group [claiming], ‘Everybody is heartless.’ Come on, this is a very big problem.” ------- http://politicker.com/2013/01/bloomberg-...striction-plan/

I doubt it. He seems obsessed with the hospitals in New York. Even tried to limit the amount of formula they could give the newborns. I can't believe he would have the authority to tell a hospital what to do with their patients.

Does this count as help ?
Emperor Bloomberg’s bureaucracy gone mad: City inspectors hassling heroes [fire fighters] who feed Sandy victims [and volunteers]

Hey kiddos. You talk as though Doomberg is forcing his will on his constituents. He isn't. They are fully compliant with his wishes. After his first half term he made it quite clear he was an active member of the food police and a arbiter of proper attitudes in polite society. He was reelected overwhelmingly. He illegally got the city council to give him a waiver from term limits to run for a third term and he was elected in a landslide. The welfare drones and the Upper East Side hoi polloi are ecstatic with his leadership whichever direction he takes them.

They're all idiots! The same mentality that thinks Obama is king of the United States.

Bloomy's obsessed with guns [even BATF slapped him down], hospitals, diet [ Big Gulps, transfats] and any issue where he perceives an opening to tell us proles how to live our lives. He's a putz.

I thought about the idiots who keep reelecting him. They deserve what they get.

It is interesting to discuss the totalitarian nature of Doomberg and what he is doing. We need to keep an eye on him because he does try to stretch his gun grabbing hands into other states which is dangerous and he does think he is running for Pres in '16. Overall though, NYC is a welfare state inside a welfare state. The place has had only a few moments of clarity since the 60's in solid leadership. Ed Koch was one and Rudy G was the other. For the most part, the idiots are quite happy with having their lives regulated, ruined and taxed to death as long as they can crow they are the best city in the world regardless of whether it is true or not. New Yorkers are the dopiest people I have ever met.

Reminds me of lemmings running around with no direction except Bloomberg telling them what to do.
