Quote: Olivia wrote in post #42I'm really sorry this thread turned into the first "clash" of personalities on this forum and even sorrier that I was involved.
ml/mj took an instant dislike to my opinion and it went downhill from there. We should be able to disagree with one another without being condescending. Actually, we don't need a forum where we have to be afraid to say what we think, but it's how we say it that matters.
As for my making a "hundred useless posts a day"....I'm at home right now with a handicapped child so I do spend quite a bit of time on the board. "Einstein Olivia" needs to slow it down a bit but I've never claimed to be the "brightest bulb in the pack."
I don't think it was personal Olivia. That posting is not his only style, I honestly believe he got frustrated because he was not getting what he thought was a good point across.
He lashed out, we all do at times. His point, unfortunately was incorrect imo. His assumption this piece came from the MSM and this was just a coverup style story was wrong, The Blaze isn't MSM. He also missed that his very valid observation that the real victims are the unarmed households has been discussed many times already.
When some members post far less than us blabbermouths they miss things we assumed they saw.
I'd like to see ML/NJ come and say it wasn't personal, because it certainly came across that way, and if it was just 'lashing out,' then it will change my now negative view of the poster.
I too appreciate Olivia's input here, and certainly don't feel it is excessive or anything less than intelligent. I don't generally have time to post articles and I really, really appreciate those who take the time to do it so that I can keep up.
I don't appreciate the apparent sexism involved in the comments (Oprah, etc.)..........the kind we got all the time on FR and TBL............and have very much enjoyed being in a place where they are frowned upon.
This is certainly not a 'girl's' forum. That's ridiculous, and any implication that it is less than serious because it happens to have been started by women, is insulting to ALL of us, not just the women.
So just a general thanks for keeping things under control to steph and Justme, and a thanks to Olivia for all your input here.
'It is reported that the burglar used the Journal News’ interactive gun map to target a home included on the map,' Ball said in statement.
'The Journal News has placed the lives of these folks at risk by creating a virtual shopping list for criminals and nut jobs. 'If the connection is proven, this is further proof that these maps are not only an invasion of privacy but that they present a clear and present danger to law-abiding, private citizens.
'Former convicts have already testified to the usefulness of the asinine Journal News ‘gun maps’ yet the reckless editors are evidently willing to roll the dice, gambling with the lives of innocent local homeowners,' the senator continued. READ MORE
