A big jump in gas prices nationwide is not only hitting drivers in the pocket book but car dealerships too.
In California before you get the keys for a test drive at some auto sales centers you must agree to bring it back with the same amount of gas you left with.
Has anyone ever been on a test drive where there was any gas in the car? Worrying if you will make it back to the lot with the needle below E during a test drive is standard operating procedure.
Frank, it's been so long that I can't even remember the last dealer test drive that I took! It may have been for the 1972 Skylark! If my memory serves me correct, gas was around 35 cents a gallon!

Because no one has enough money to buy a new car anyway..........
ESPECIALLY in California.
When you go to the used car lot to look for a car whose price wasn't artificially jacked by the Cash for Clunkers program, they will charge for the test drives there, too.
We pay for our stupidity, over and over.
Orthodoxy SUCKS.
"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson
Ah yes..........the Cash for Clunkers program...............designed to hurt the young and the poor who, without a thought in their pretty little heads, voted to reelect the idiot who's trying to do them harm.
The dumbest sales concept.........ever! Must've been dreamt up by the son of an owner.........a kid who's never sold a car in his life. If I owned a car dealership with 10 miles of the place I'd have one of those "human billboard" guys standing on the sidewalk out front with a sign announcing that I'LL PAY QUALIFIED PROSPECTS TO COME OVER TO MY DEALERSHIP FOR A TEST DRIVE!
