Frank "Connor" Snellings, 21, the son of U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., was arrested Thursday morning on charges of driving while intoxicated, hit-and-run driving, and driving the wrong way on a one-way street in the French Quarter, according to the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office.
The car Snellings was driving hit a pedestrian, who was not seriously injured, according to the sheriff's report. Snellings and a passenger in his car were not hurt.
"We love our son wholeheartedly, but we are extremely disappointed by his irresponsible actions last night," Sen. Landrieu said Thursday in a phone interview. "These actions have serious consequences both at home and in our legal system."
Landrieu asked people "to respect his privacy as we work through this challenging time for our family."
The passenger in the vehicle has not been identified.
The Sheriff's report said Snellings also was charged with possession of an alcoholic beverage in the car and of not maintaining proper control of the vehicle.
No real news here. He screwed up,he was arrested, and there seems to have been no attempt at a coverup.

You probably would too if you visited the farms and meat packing plants there.

Who claimed he needed privacy other than his mother, and what mother wouldn't make that claim?
Seems to me he is getting no more or no less than anyone else arrested on the same charges should get,and that seems fair. He wasn't elected to public office. His mother was.

Me. If my kids royally screw up, it's on them. I won't try to ease their embarrassment. He committed the crime he wasn't the victim....that would be the guy he hit.
So? He's an adult. Idiot one, just like his parents.

I don't know. Probably not,but that hasn't happened yet. So far it seems like we know everything there is to know about the case so far.
