Vice President Joe Biden will try to restart the dormant gun control push next week with an event to tout the administration’s progress in combatting gun violence.
The June 18 White House event will mark the first time Biden or President Barack Obama has held a public event on gun control since the Senate rejected expanded background checks for gun purchases April 17.
Despite Obama’s saying “this effort is not over” after the Senate defeated expanded background checks, the White House has since done little to push its gun control proposals.
The event comes, according to an invitation shared with POLITICO, as “the Administration continues to implement President Obama’s plan to protect our children and communities by reducing gun violence.”
A Biden aide confirmed a gun control event has been scheduled but declined to discuss what will take place. The White House declined to comment.
hmm-what does it feel like to put so much trust in government to do the right thing--to put your rights and freedoms in the trust of a party or institution that wants more control of your life--because they do know better than you--just ask them
You gotta love the chutzpa of these dolts. Scandals involving personal liberty covering DC like a thick fog. Trust in government going through the floor, and they pick NOW to go after guns?

We won Tommey-Manchin. Who is surprised or trusts the regime here?

PzL,
Yeah, this one's got me baffled.
The Democrats are evil but not stupid and this move (assuming it's not a bluff) seems incredibly stupid.
I was also putting big government republicans in there not just dems-- yes Tommey-Manchin was shelved by reid it was not politically the right time for them but too many republicans want this too--but their is some who willing put their fate in washington's hands--to be honest it is easier for other people to make your decisions--I don't have faith in Gov I am skeptical I admit that--i know how i works and what evil is so I don't cheerlead for a party

Before I respond, I apologize for the first two words in my prior comment to you and I have removed them.
In your quote shown above, you are assuming things for which there is no evidence.

ZitatThe other guys aren't gonna stop tryin' just 'cause you no longer have the stomach for the fight.
This line cries out for a response and some comments:
Yes, "the other side" never quits - never gives up. Socialized medicine - to cite an example - has been a wet dream of the Left since at least the Truman Administration. It took them over 60 years, but they finally got it.
"Our side", on the other hand (or at least those we elect to represent out point of view) ALWAYS folds.
But yet, it's WE who don't have the "stomach for the fight"?
Hey. Why not restart it. A bunch of GOP filth went on the record saying they wanted to jam gun control through even though Toomey Manchin bombed. This is a bipartisan issue now...

Whatever.
It was defeated, they won't accept defeat and promised to revisit it. That's the game.
I'm happy for victories and don't deny they happened. You give them more credit than they deserve and by doing so pull the rug out from your own side....imnsho
