ZitatPam Nkosi of Honeydew, north of Johannesburg, South Africa, said a bull terrier ran into her garden and bit her seven-year-old daughter while she played with other children.
‘I feel that the dog is racist,’ Ms Nkosi reportedly said. ‘The way it behaved. It shows that it was not familiar with other races.’
"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson
I had a dear dog my Annabelle, in the 70’s. She was a terrier mutt and I got her right from the litter, owned by a white family in Chicago. had never seen a black or hispanic. I raised her in an integrated neighborhood across from a park with a lot of dog owners. She instinctively did not like black people and would stiffen up and growl, sometimes loudly. She also would stand in a defensive position with me behind her. My little maltese mix that I have now loves everyone.

Years ago my grandfather had a weimaraner that was a great dog, friendly and greeted strangers like family for years until a black employee came over to the house. That dog turned vicious the instant he saw the guy, tried to tear him to pieces. We didn’t know what to think until it happened again with a different black guy a year or so later.
He was raised since a pup with us, so it was just the dog didn’t like seeing someone different we think.

To: Slings and Arrows I had a racist dog when I was growing up. Never really understood it. Dee Dee was an Austrailian Shepard who absolutely hated black folk. It took a long time for her to accept one of my best friends at the time who lived a couple of blocks down from us. She didn't really care much for hispanics either. To my knowledge, she never bit anyone, but she was really protective of everyone in my family. The only thing that makes sense about it to me is that it was a scent thing. 23 posted on Thursday, February 28, 2013 8:59:06 AM by zeugma (Those of us who work for a living are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.) To: expat1000 You are absolutely correct. Dogs are pack animals and if the human members of their pack are white they don't like black people and vise versa. 27 posted on Thursday, February 28, 2013 9:50:03 AM by Ditter [ Post Reply | Private Reply | To 7 | View Replies | Report Abuse]

My daughter’s Chihuahua doesn’t like anybody much, but he really, really doesn’t like black people. Or Mexicans, ironically enough.
