I'll fully agree with your position when the new crop of Conservatives fail. Right now Paul, Cruz, Rubio and company look like they are controlling the dialog and selling our vision of the country in a meaningful way.

In '72, the GOP took it to McGovern and destroyed him. The same can't be said for the '08 and '12 election cycle. If the GOP would have gone after Zero the way they went after past candidates and we still got the results we did, I would be a lot more dour than I am. The GOP has to get it's act together.

I think that's because McGovern was white, not because they were stronger then.

I really think the stigma of being a socialist is gone with the majority of younger Americans. They've been indoctrinated to think that capitalism is a dirty word, that people on the right are "extremists" and that Communism wasn't all that bad.

It's going to take (at least) a generation to get out of this mess.

I'm pretty sure it can't happen before I'm gone.
