House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he would not include language to defund Obamacare in the continuing resolution bill when it returns to the House, stating, “our goal” is “not to shut down the government.”

Yeah, I read this article from them yesterday, it pissed me off to no end!
(I didn't bother to post it here because I figured it would stir up a hornet's nest! )

Obamacare increases the cost of business operation which risks shutting down places of employment. Obviously this is a risk that is acceptable to Boehner. The fact that 46,609,072 Americans were on food stamps in December of 2012 does not keep him up at night. He has job security.

Boehner, McCain, Graham, all RINO's that use the government for the power & betterment of themselves. I'm registered unaffiliated to either party because of them.

What bothers me are the individual stories... the story about man who loses his job and then goes home to his wife and kids to tell them that he won't be bringing home a paycheck. If he is unable to secure employment quickly he will face grinding weeks of unemployment. This is demoralizing to him as a provider.

I'm not saying that he isn't able to regroup and eventually find another job.

But for many American fathers this is more difficult than it should have been. The Obama administration's policies are grinding the people down by design.

And when our representatives do not challenge the president and fight back on our behalf they weaken and betray us as a people.

And can I ask I "dumb" question here? I thought that we were supposed to be going back to "regular order" now, Boehner said no more deals, secret meetings, etc.

Doesn't "regular order" imply:
- a formal budget process, hearings in sub-committees and committees, amendments, full chamber approvals, committee resolution of differences, budget signed into law
- similar movement of Appropriation and Authorization legislation through both chambers to actually fund programs as agreed upon in the budget?

And I thought that the House passed legislation to force the Senate into and through the budget process (as described above)?

So, if all of this is true, why this CR? (Unless I am missing something, and that could well be the case since I am a doddering old fool at this point, doesn't the CR just basically obviate the need to move into "regular order" for this FY? I don't get it, or maybe I do, and am pretty pissed about it.)

Of course the only good thing in the article was from Senator Cruz:

Though he did not expect the amendment to pass, Cruz said it was important to stand on “principle,” and urged Republicans in the House to do the same.

“I think it’s the right position for Republicans to be taking,” Cruz told CNSNews.com on Wednesday. “And I think it would be exactly the right decision to then send it back to Harry Reid and President Obama and ask if Harry Reid and President Obama are willing to try to shut the government down in order to insist that Obamacare be fully funded now, even though it could well push us into a recession.”

I'd love to be a fly on the wall and listen to what Boehner says about Cruz after Johnny has a few drinks in him.

I listen to the media less and less.

I look at my young children and think of their futures. My parents were born in the late 1930's. They struggled as young people. They prospered greatly during the Reagan years. They provided very well for their family.

I do not believe that my children will have the opportunities that I had because their foundation will not be as strong. The system will not allow it.
