I really know very little about medications, but in all the commercials they say the meds lead to either more depression and suicide thought or the start of them. Creepy stuff.

Precisely. Over time the definition of medications will be expanded to include everyone with any condition(chronic or one time occurrence) controlled/treated by medication under yhe pretext of public safety

I used wikipedia because I figured they'd know all about psychoactive drugs.

This has nothing to do with mental illness and everything to do with "gun control". Apparently, the list also includes sleep meds like Lunesta, quit-smoking aids like Wellbutrin, and benedryl.

That is why people should not be so quick to jump on the "mental health reform" bandwagon as a "reasonable" alternative to the other more blatant rights removal (gun control) "solutions." Any further emphasis on "mental health" reforms will ultimately lead to rights removal (i.e., no approval because now you are "mentally ill") and increased drug usage (the guy in this article).

If you cut to the chase here, what does mental health treatment now come down to? More often than not it is far less expensive for government/insurers to pay for a 10-15 min. psychiatric "med check" once per month (or two), than it is to pay for therapeutic sessions with (PHD) psychologists or MSWs. Unless you have very deep pockets and can pay cash (without any hope of reimbursement), try getting into a program of classic Psychotherapy (or any of the related long-term talk therapies that used to be the norm prior to the rush to drug everyone)!

If you want to see an advanced antecedent or precursor of what will happen to the general public, look what is happening to our Veterans, now. (You can also refer to life behind the Iron Curtain, many "enemies of the state" were classified as "mental incompetents.")
