That "loving Jesus means hating gay people" is "proclaimed in Christian churches and on Christian television and radio broadcasts."

So declares Dan Savage in his review of Jeff Chu's "Does Jesus Really Love Me: A Gay Christian's Pilgrimage in Search of God in America" -- on page one of The New York Times Book Review.

Who is foremost among those who have made "anti-gay bigotry seem synonymous with Christianity"? The Family Research Council and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

A man recently said that he forgave someone for their role in a tragedy. This man said that one of the people broke the law.

When I heard this I scratched my head in confusion because the law as it is written is a restriction on freedom.

This man was saying that it was wrong to break the law. I doubt he has ever sat and pondered much about whether or not the law is right or if it is a law that would be endorsed by God.

There is God's law. There is man's law. They do not hold the same authority. We're going to get a beating if we continue down this path. We will only have ourselves to blame.

As the article alludes to, "homophobic" is their word. It's what they put on the "kick me" sticker they apply to the backs of principled Christians of different values.

"Homophobic" is coded hate speech. It presently flies under the hate radar but it is hate speech, just the same. It is denigrating those whose opinion differ from theirs. It attempts to censor thought and free speech, to shut down different opinions on a subject that has a definite immoral dimension. Condemn the opposing speech rather than admit the behavior's unhealthy and immoral nature.

If homosexuality wasn't so obviously unhealthy why can't practising homosexuals donate blood to the Red Cross? Duh!

Why not ask if Chrsitians are Adutlorphobic?

Or Thiefaphobic?

Because the current MSM meme is that gay rights is a struggle akin to civil rights in the 60's and they want to bring on a change.

In any event aren't Christians suppose to hate the sin not the sinner?

I have a Guide and it is the Holy Spirit He tells me what is right and wrong and I don't need a certian group to tell me what I need to accept as acceptable behavior.

God does not like Lukewarm belivers so Satan is trying to lower the bar and I say NO--If that makes me a fanatic or a whatever phobia they what to throw at me so be it--I have to answer to one God in the end--So I'm resting on that.

Holding our own against this kind of onslaught doesn't alter the Truth of God that he puts before us.

But we're dealing with a popular movement and the people are being swayed, especially the less biblically astute, younger generation, and that is particularly challenging. We do need to develop a strategy to avoid being coined by their phrase and dismissed as haters.

Homophobic is their word choice, not ours. It is inaccurate two ways: we don't fear and we don't hate. We disagree but we don't hate the sinner [if we're operating as Christ taught].

If we Christians wanna get back on offense regarding this issue, we'd better drop the "love the sinner, hate the sin" riff.

The Alinsky-ites interpret that as our side blinking (because for many Christians that's exactly what it is). And, if you blink when battling Alinsky-ites you're dead meat.
