ABC News Announces New Correspondent Assignments in Washington D.C. Bureau
Jonathan Karl Named Chief White House Correspondent and Martha Raddatz Named Chief Global Affairs Correspondent
Today ABC News President Ben Sherwood announced new correspondent assignments for the Washington D.C. bureau. He sent the following email to the news division outlining the changes:
I am delighted to report that Jonathan Karl is our new Chief White House Correspondent and Martha Raddatz is taking on an expanded role as Chief Global Affairs Correspondent.

Jake is leaving ABC News for an opportunity at CNN. You’ll hear more about his new anchor role from his new network. For years, Jake has set the pace for the White House press corps. A ferocious reporter – and now a best-selling author – he has built a reputation as one of the most prolific and multi-talented journalists on the beat, scoring scoop after scoop. For the last three years his fellow White House correspondents have honored his work with a streak of Merriman Smith Awards for Presidential Coverage under Deadline Pressure.
Please join me in congratulating Jon and Martha and wishing Jake the best.

Remember. Jeff Zucker is running CNN now in an attempt to pull their rating out of the toilet. They may have offered Tapper huge sums of money to do his style of honest reporting to try to give CNN some much needed credibility. It should also be noted that the networks news divisions are dead. No one goes to them for any breaking or daily news anymore. Tapper would have a bigger audience on cable, especially if Zucker turns it around. I personally think Zucker is an incompetent who ran NBC Primetime into the toilet, but who knows.
I wouldn't be surprised if CNN was "encouraged" to make the offer to Jake to get him out of the briefing room for the next 4 years (since he is the only one in there that dares to challenge the regime from time to time).
I follow Tapper on FB, and while he is better than most, he does have his time where he just has to pull back and toe the lefty line. It drives me nuts about him.
One wonders if Tapper dropped that "where have you been the last 4 years" bomb on Obama the other day because he knew he was going to be out of there soon. How courageous.

I followed him on twitter (until he blocked me - lol).
He frustrated me too .....when he would toe back to the lefty line.
I think I jumped his case over a lefty position ....one too many times -lol !!

I saw Beck interview Tapper a week or so ago. It focused a lot on Tapper's new book, but also wandered off a bit here and there to talk about Tapper's views on journalistic integrity (his own and that of others). The impression that I got (and it is only an impression since those parts of the conversation were very "squishy" for lack of a better word), was that Tapper would like to be a bit more bold in the "right" situations. Time will tell.
