The Senate will try again to pass recently defeated gun control legislation, and will be aided by increasing activism from previously neutral voters, Sen. Chuck Schumer predicted today at a press conference.
“I think we will bring the bill back before the end of the year… lots of Senators who thought it was safe to vote against it [April 17] because of the intensity [of gun-rights supporters] are not so sure any more,” Schumer told reporters at an April breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.
“I do agree with Chuck that I think the issue will come back,” said Sen. John McCain, who supported an amendment to expand background checks during an April 17 vote.
The amendment failed to get the needed 60 votes to overcome a filibuster, and failed 54 to 46.

Exactly!
Lure the Dems into sticking their heads in the meat grinder again!
Brilliant!

While it was easy to predict the defeat of Machin-Toomey the first time, there were many re-election issues for Red state Dem Senators, this time it may not be so easy, IF it comes to the floor at all.
Bacchus announcing his retirement means he doesn't owe any Montanans anything, and he could vote 'aye'.
We don't know how much Democrat behind the door arm twisting, or the 're-election' funding being promised or the threats of being ostracized from any support for re-election is going on.
Remember, we have a POTUS who LIKES to use Chicago-style political tricks to get what he wants.
Once the Boston Marathon bombing no longer pushes economic news off the first ten pages, the left will have to bring up guns, abortion and gay marriage.
I actually like Cedric too !! I might not always agree with his opinion but I like his type of humor which I don't believe is mean spirited or malicious. I appreciate his tongue-in cheek light-heartedness because I don't take his comments serious or personal. Anyway ..........................
