I've met different kinds of mothers.

They profess to be pro-life. They look like they are pro-life. But when the rubber meets the road the buckle and choose abortion for their daughters. They themselves would never have gotten an abortion. But it is different when it is their daughter. Ultimately they are hurting their daughters irreparably and later they say, "You shouldn't have done that." But they don't admit their role in helping their daughter obtain an abortion.

We're talking about the very ignorant here, most are very young, but not all. You've seen what Palinista posted above in this thread (and no, she doesn't stutter!): the "blob of cells," a "mass of tissue," that is what some of the very ignorant have been taught to believe. Why is that so difficult to understand?

How does a mother choose abortion for her daughter, then subsequently say, "You shouldn't have done that," as if she knew nothing about it?

I've heard two mothers say this.

One mother was exhausted and raising two grandchildren that her daughter had out of wedlock and did not want to raise another one so she paid for the daughter's abortion.

The other mother said that abortion was wrong and that she would never have chosen it for herself, but she paid for the daughter's abortion. She even drove her daughter to the clinic and nursed her afterwards.

They didn't effectively resolve their responsibility in my eyes. They never tried to. They were just walking contradictions and they knew it.

At one of my posts at the top of the page I said that some women believe they are carrying a blob of cells, but they don't believe it is a baby. Becoming a baby happens... well, at some point in the future. Like when the child can be felt moving in the womb or when it is born.

Before that? It's out of sight, out of mind.

They lie to themselves.

If you grilled them on the point they would claim ignorance because they didn't understand. That is their catch-all excuse. I didn't say it was a good one.

The logic doesn't follow. Pro life is teaching the value of life, the facts are not unknown. They simply reject them, which has not been your position up to this point.

Oh. You did that? You paid for the abortion of your grandchild? Oh. But now you know you shouldn't have?

Okay but that doesn't change the past. They know the truth. There was nothing else to say because they weren't even defensive. They were just stating the truth of what had happened twenty years earlier.
