The Pentagon for the first time has officially recognized transgender service members in a significant step being hailed by the LGBT community.

The acknowledgement came in the form of a letter to veteran and transgender activist Autumn Sandeen confirming that the Navy had updated its records to show she is a woman

Big deal. They're grasping

The LGBT community needs to celebrate every victory they can, now matter how small.

I do not understand how someone who is transgendered can be offered sanctuary within the military, only because when I look at that picture of that man... er woman... WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?... I think of them serving our nation over seas like in the Middle East. Does he/she wear feminine clothing in muslim countries? Does the burkha hide her well enough?
