Seems far more plausible to me that we are simply fighting arrogant, overly bureaucratic partisan thugs, people who have been thinking they are right so long and have been in power long enough so that they can no longer fathom just how wrong they are.

A strategy which intially consist of only two parts is hardly requisite of complex coordination.

If I understand your position, you would necessarily need to believe that although there were at least 3 lawyers present (Lois, hubby and Taylor) they just blindly "stumbled" into such an obvious and embarrassing misuse of the 5th amendment which, thereafter, likely nullifies its use in any and all subsequent civil and criminal proceedings.

That is impossible for me to believe.
