The Boy Scouts of America's decision last month to allow gay members was made with the blessings of many churches and religious groups—but not all of them. And here's a pretty significant opponent: The Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant denomination in America with 45,000 congregations and 16 million members, says it will now urge its followers to leave the Scouts, reports CNN. The Boy Scouts says Baptist churches currently sponsor nearly 4,000 units, containing more than 100,000 kids.

As far as I'm concerned the Boy Scouts have now become NAMBLA members. As such, pedophiles will probably be protected while any Christian who objects will be prosecuted for a hate crime.
I would not allow any son or grandson of mine to be a part of this group now, that's for darn sure. And it has nothing to do with 'hating' homosexuals...it has everything to do with loving my son enough to protect him from these people!
America's hope is not the donkey or the elephant, but the Lamb.

1 John 3:19-23 (NIV)
19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. 23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

Children should not be exposed in any degree to what sexual preferences might be. Innocence is lost. Stranger danger has been tossed out the window when so-called sexual preferences in children is an issue. It's cringe worthy.
I hate the loss of innocence, the sexualizing of our youth by perverts. Let them grow up without questioning their sexual "preferences". What a dastardly distraction to being young and innocent.
The bureaucracy: the new fourth branch of government. The bureaucracy is unaccountable, unelected and choking us like a weed. The bureaucrat exists, generating nothing of value, using perceived problems to justify his existence.

My son was a scout for nine years. We pulled him out because the leadership would not reign in the bullies.
When I told my son that his church was voting to remove their association with scouting he thought it was a good thing.
He doesn't want the young boys to be socially pressured into accepting that which is frightening and harmful.
