So you're observation is we don't "attack" the likes of Harry Reid - instead we "attack" McConnell? Do I have that right?

Here's an analogy that might help to explain.

You find out that your neighbor's wife is a prostitute. Unfortunately, at the same time, you find out that your own wife is a prostitute, too.

Harry Reid represents the neighbor's wife. Now - do you have any influence with her? No. Does it do any good to complain, or try to influence her? No.

But your own wife - who is, after all, supposed to love and cherish you and you alone - now there's someone you DO have some influence with.

So - McConnell represents the prostitute spouse, and we're his jilted husband.

An apt analogy, if I ever saw one.
