I didn't read the thread at FR. I just doubt where she stands personally. Rob Portman's view of same sex marriage evolved because of his son. I suspect Liz Cheney feels great sympathy for her sister and would support any move that would give her equality in any state and across the country.

That's the beauty of evolving points of view. As soon as someone can say that a family member has shown them that they are treated as a lesser citizen, the heart melts and a sympathetic reaction causes them to protect the their loved one. That is what I have seen happen, again and again.

My dad was born and raised in Wyoming, and I lived there for awhile as a kid. That makes me more of a Wyoming person, than her.

She was not born there, she did not graduate from HS or college there. She does not live there.

Some Wyoming voters would not like here approach, to sweep in from her home in the DC area, to try to unseat a popular man the voters had elected.

Maybe that's okay in Wyoming County Pennsylvania or in Wyoming County New York, but out west it is suspicious.

I'm personally indifferent between the two, on policies. He has lifelong ACU figure of 92, and she has no elected office experience whatsoever.

As to their high or low character, just remember they are ALL career government employees, getting very rich from it. Dick Cheney himself is very rich, solely due to his career in government. Halliburton wouldn't have wanted him, except for his government inroads.

All we have is thin air at this point. We can expect all candidates to use TEA buzzwords during the coming election. If Rubio has taught us anything, it is to look beyond the rhetoric and see what they've really done.
Her husband was an atty for DHS...during the frying of the border patrol agents. All this might be an indication as to how she will lean when there isn't a clear political record to follow.

I see that the Wyoming reps have come out in support of Enzi. He is flawed in some areas, good in others. He is strong on 2nd. Amendment and Illegal Immigration. Indications are that he is solidly against government surveillance of citizens. Rand Paul has endorsed him over Liz.

She has stated that she is pro-gay marriage in the past. She said so years ago. Now that she is campaigning, she throws in the caveat of "state's decision." That tells me that she is trying to get the constitutionalist's vote.

It's called vetting, truth_seeker. It's not about stabbing one candidate over another. It's about finding the right candidate to represent one's views.

More and more I see people who were against homosexual marriage and then when a family member comes to them with the difficulties that they face as a homosexual they become sympathetic and they eventually embrace their loved one, their loved one's "spouse" and the resulting children from the homosexual union.

Then they want marriage equality.

It has to do with sympathy. It has nothing to do with logic.
