The only minority on the all-female jury that voted to acquit George Zimmerman said today that Zimmerman "got away with murder" for killing Trayvon Martin and feels she owes an apology Martin's parents.
"You can't put the man in jail even though in our hearts we felt he was guilty," said the woman who was identified only as Juror B29 during the trial. "But we had to grab our hearts and put it aside and look at the evidence."
She said the jury was following Florida law and the evidence, she said, did not prove murder. ------ The nursing assistant and mother of eight children was selected as a juror five months after she had moved to Seminole County, Fla., from Chicago. ------- "I was the juror that was going to give them the hung jury. I fought to the end," she said.
However, on the second day of deliberations, after spending nine hours discussing the evidence, Maddy said she realized there wasn't enough proof to convict Zimmerman of murder or manslaughter under Florida law. ------ When asked by Roberts whether the case should have gone to trial, Maddy said, "I don't think so."
"I felt like this was a publicity stunt. This whole court service thing to me was publicity," she said.
Zitat"As much as we were trying to find this man guilty…they give you a booklet that basically tells you the truth, and the truth is that there was nothing that we could do about it," she said. "I feel the verdict was already told."
Well, good thing the idiot was in surrounded by women with brains
"I was the juror that was going to give them the hung jury. I fought to the end (but den I gotta thinkin' 'bout what I was amissin' down at da Golden Corral)," she said.

True story...George wasn't breeding enuf, but the sail fone evidence was tough to deny
It sounds like she was fighting to hang the jury and then gave in. I wonder what finally made her change her mind? She would have had quite a bit of notoriety as the "hanging juror."
In any event, I'm glad the others pulled her over in the end.

Obviously clarity of thought isn't her strong suit. She can't honestly say all of the things she does without being a non-linear thinker. Nothing has to connect in her thinking world.
Saying she owes the Martins an apology AND saying this case never should have gone to trial? that it was a publicity stunt?
For her both are true. She's just not a logical thinker. She thinks emotionally. Probably that's why she thought they were counting on her for the hung jury.
When she says he got away with murder I don't think she means she wanted to convict him of murder. She's using the word murder as slang, not in the legal sense.
Oh boy, Zimmerman was lucky here!!!
The bureaucracy: the new fourth branch of government. The bureaucracy is permanent, unaccountable, unelected and choking us like a weed. The bureaucrat exists, generating nothing of value, using perceived problems to justify his existence.

In other words, she makes about as much sense as Rachel Jeantel !!

I applaude the other women on the jury for convincing this woman to do the right thing.
