It wasn’t enough that Congress was given an exemption from paying for health insurance through Obamacare exchanges. Now they want to be exempt from the premium penalties on age and smoking. These people are unbelievable, they pass this garbage and then exempt themselves.
Rush Limbaugh brought this up on his show today.
Zitat So on top of everything else now, the 75% subsidy isn’t enough. Congress has now asked to be spared the penalties for being old or smoking. I am not kidding you.
Under their old federal health insurance program Congress all paid the same premiums. But thanks to Obamacare, the premiums are going to vary based on age, smoking and place of residence. Older congressmen who smoke and live in a red state will have to pay much higher premiums than others. They’re trying to get that changed, too, so that they don’t pay the insurance premium of smoking or being old. Not kidding. That’s the latest thing they’re asking for. And there’s even more.
Even though congressmen get to keep their 75% taxpayer subsidy for the rest of their lives — it’s not a one-time thing. Every renewal on their insurance will be subsidized 75%, that’s still not good enough. Because of the differences in the premiums due to age and smoking, they want to change the rules so that they can go back to their old federal insurance once they retire. Once they retire they want to be exempted from all of this and they want to go back to what they had before Obamacare. They want to be able to get their old insurance back when they leave Congress, so that they’re not stuck with Obamacare for the rest of their lives like we all are. (Read More)
Every time they give themselves an exemption it’s we the people who pick up the tab.
When Limbaugh says, "like we all are" he is being less than honest.
He will pay cash directly to the provider for the premium health care of his choice.
"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson
"If people can’t trust not only the executive branch but also don’t trust Congress, and don’t trust federal judges, to make sure that we’re abiding by the Constitution with due process and rule of law, then we’re going to have some problems here." - Barack Obama, June 7, 2013

Are any of you really surprised about this? They get paid the buckets of money for screwing the citizens, not themselves.
Just business as usual in DC.
