House Republicans overwhelmingly oppose the Senate bill. Many don’t want to grant citizenship to people who broke U.S. laws to be here. Instead of a single big bill, they prefer a step-by-step approach, beginning with border security.
ZitatBut any action even on that is not expected until October at the earliest because Congress has only nine legislative days in September and they’re expected to be devoted to fiscal issues. So far, no House committee has advanced legislation that would offer a path to citizenship to anyone here illegally.

As predicted, amnesty is being neglected by the House.
Back in June, Schumer was arrogantly demanding that the Republican House pass the Gang Of Eight abomination, as is, within 7 days......or else he (Schmucky) would punish the GOP by organizing millions of illegal immigration symathizers to descend on Washington.
Two days ago, that very same Schmucky Schumer was begging the House to pass any fragment of legislation it wished to.
That's all you need to know about who's currently in control (hint: initials are MJB).
{And yet, the perpetually whiney contingent of devoutly dour RR members, absent any evidence whatsoever, act as though we've already lost on this issue.}
