Crooked Dem Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. Sentenced To 30 Months In Prison – Update: Wife Gets 12 Months…
He got off easy, he was expected to get between 4-7 years.
Via WGTV:
A federal judge sentenced former congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. to 30 months, or about 2-and-a-half years, in prison for misuse of campaign funds.
“This is a very sad day and a difficult case,” said Judge Amy Berman Jackson before the sentence was handed down. She said she finds he is “genuinely committed” to his work in Congress. But, she said he wrote checks and credit charges more than 3,000 times.
Talking about Jackson’s illness, she said “this disorder can not begin to explain” the multiple purchases.
“You are a member of Congress who never missed a vote,” the judge said, adding that she received letters from people implying Jackson is “guilty of bad acts but you are not a bad man.”
“But as a public official you are supposed to live up to a higher standard of integrity,” she said.
During his sentencing hearing, Jackson addressed the court and admitted fault: ”I misled the American people; I misled the House of Representatives; I misled the media…I was wrong. I don’t fault anyone.”
Judge Amy Berman Jackson also ruled that Jackson does not have to pay restitution to his former campaign because it is now defunct.
Update: Only 12 months for stealing $750,000, and they don’t have to pay the money back.

30 months is "about" two and a half years? There just ain't no slipping NOTHING past that reporter,is there?
So,JJ Jr gets a private cell as a celebrity guest at a protected prison and doesn't even have to pay the money back.
Not only that, but he can run for congress again once he's freed. There is no law against convicted felons being congresscritters.
And the wife only gets one year, which means she will be out in 3 months.
Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012)
