For those of you recently expelled from the Grand Old Party:
The resolution called on the president and Congress to create a new work permit program, which, according to the resolution, would “allow foreign nationals who are currently in the country and have not violated any other laws of the U.S. to come forward and register and be allowed to remain and work in the U.S.”
The language, though, specifically excluded a path to citizenship.
The resolution called for increased border security, including the completion of a border fence and increased law enforcement or military patrols, as well as mandatory employer use of the E-verify system.

Eglman,
I can't help but notice how the resident troll has been unable to refute the fact that we are in a record period of unemployment and underemployment and one of the last things the country needs is more workers. It has been unable to deny that the labor market is subject to the laws of supply and demand, i.e. more workers combined with static or declining number of jobs = fewer job opportunities and lower salaries. Instead, it highjacked the thread and redirected it to the emotionally charged issue of abortion, implying that those who are against amnesty by any name are automatically pro abortion.
