While I understand the desire to simplify debate in terms of "hate" and "love", a serious political discussion board should delve a little deeper than that. Besides, as a believing Christian, I cannot justify hating anyone.
So - Gordon Norquist.
A simple google search (discounting any "Glen Beck" links) of his name turns up the fact that he has been in the news recently pushing so-called immigration reform.
Are we all supposed to be okay with that?

Definitely not. But again it's the case of the conservative purity test...
Even Ronald Reagan had opinions you disagreed with, amnesty and the Brady Bill.
To me, I am very much against amnesty, but I won't throw the whole baby out with the bathwater on a single issue.

This is a preemptive attack to bloody "Gordon" Norquist and his eviler twin, Grover, in advance of the forthcoming amnesty rumble.

Everyone is human and has human shortcomings - certainly politicians. It's interesting you brought up Reagan, though.
Reagan's closet friend, Ed Meese, says Reagan in later years told him that "signing the amnesty bill was the biggest mistake of my presidency." And about the Brady Bill? I think you have to allow him that one - Brady was also a friend who was shot during the 1981 assassination attempt.
We all have to decide for ourselves what constitutes "live and die" issues - when our favorite pols are considering compromise.
I can only speak for myself - but I have two. Immigration reform (leading to amnesty for illegals who have broken immigration laws); and supporting Zero care in any way, shape or form.
This isn't like whether taxes should be reduced or not - as important as that issue is. Those two issues cut to the core of the very survival of the country.
How do you compromise on those?

no wonder the gop is no different than the dems--the establishment type refuses to purge cockroaches when they find them--they make excuses for them and then shoot the messenger--and then claim it's a purity thing (BS)--if norquist and rove are what you want then you can have them--I think they are what is wrong
