Because that is where this issue is at now. If he is for legalizing, and goes into this totally idiotic statement....
Zitat"The tax goes from 100 percent, meaning its illegal, to whatever the tax is."
he is saying that a fed tax is A O K. Isn't that the carrot that the druggies are using for the Feds to legalize it? Legalize it, but tax it? From his comments, a 99% tax is cool with him and all the bureaucracy that goes with that. F him. It is totally opposed to his stupid pledge.

ZitatAt 25 percent on three levels of sales (on top of the state's standard sales tax of 8.75 percent), Colorado's marijuana tax is significantly higher than its levy on alcohol, but it's all the "same zone," says Norquist.
I think it's clear in the context of the article that he's talking about simply applying the state's tax to pot.
Nothing whatsoever about a national sales tax except in your fevered imagination.

Well since you are too dim to see what is being argued here, let me spell it out. Pot is ILLEGAL in all states no matter what states have to say about it. Federal law trumps the states. Pot is illegal in the eyes of the Federal Govt'. So in order for it to be legal, the feds would have to jump on board the legalize and tax bandwagon. Remember that the whole reason this terrorist loving creep is teaming up with these two Reps is to get the Feds to accept pot sellers tax deductions on their FEDERAL tax returns.
ZitatThe federal tax code considers state-approved dispensaries drug traffickers, even in the 20-plus states that have medical marijuana or full legalization. Norquist, Blumenauer, and Rohrabacher want to put an end to that.
No where in this piece does this filthy maggot cite any specific or all states on this new tax. Also, his pledge is signed by Federal elected officials. Not state and local. He has no power outside of I 495.

They have to jump on board the legalize bandwagon, not the tax bandwagon. There is a difference there.
LOL. Yeah, And what happens to people who sign this rag in state and local office and don;t follow through? Nothing because this only matters in DC. This is a DC scam.

I am totally against it. It is a pointless exercise in giving a loser like Grover a higher profile than he deserves. It also isn't worth the paper it is printed on. Didn't the House GOP agree to raise taxes during the CR last year even though a bunch of them signed it? Bleh. Childish garbage.
