An article originally published at the Denver Post on Friday cited a classmate who described Karl Pierson, the alleged Arapahoe High School shooter, as a “very opinionated Socialist.” But the paper edited the article since it was first published, scrubbing the reference to socialism, Twitchy reported Saturday, citing a post at Bearing Arms.
“Thomas Conrad, who had an economics class with the gunman, described him as a very opinionated Socialist,” the Post originally said.
But in a move reminiscent of George Orwell’s “1984,” the description was removed.
The article now says:
Thomas Conrad, who had an economics class with Pierson, described him as very opinionated.
"What Winston and his colleagues in the Records office, a section of the Ministry of Truth are involved in is no less than a stupendous, perpetual project of recreating the past. For example, an earlier edition of The Times Newspaper had reported that the army would be active on the Indian front while there would be peace on the African border. What had actually happened was the reverse. Now, Winston had to create a fresh copy of the Times, bearing the earlier date, but with the facts “updated”. All copies of the earlier edition would be destroyed and anyone who went looking for records would find the Party’s claims fully substantiated by the documents."
"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson
"If people can’t trust not only the executive branch but also don’t trust Congress, and don’t trust federal judges, to make sure that we’re abiding by the Constitution with due process and rule of law, then we’re going to have some problems here." - Barack Obama, June 7, 2013

The Denver Post is a family-owned newspaper, and they have been involved in the Dim Party since at least the 1800's. They are also rabidly anti-gun,and were always running anti-gun editorials when I was living in Denver in the 70's. At the time there were only a little more than 100 citizens in all of the Denver metro area licensed to carry concealed handguns, and even then they were limited to 38 Special revolvers.
Guess who got drunk in the Denver Athletic Club (swanky joint where only the "finest families" are allowed to join) one fine night and pulled a concealed 44 Magnum revolver on another patron at the bar? Yup,it was the mayor's and Police Chief's BFF,the editor/owner of the Denver Post. Oddly enough, the Denver Post seemed to miss this story on the police blotter, and you had to read the Rocky Mountain News to find out about it. Come to find out the editor that was so strongly against CCW permits was one of the few to have one, which is the justification the PD used to not charge him with a felony. He was NOT licensed to carry a 44 Magnum or to pull his gun out and threaten people with it in a bar, though.
AFAIK,he was allowed to pay a small fine and nothing more was ever heard about it. Never heard that his CCW permit was revoked, either. Then again, nobody on any of the Denver tv station news programs even wanted to talk about the editor having a CCW permit. Most likely because their bosses also had one,and they didn't want anybody to know about it. Some organizations were trying to get the CCW list made public, but the Police Chief and Mayor were always strongly opposed to publicizing the names. I think we all know why,and that it was related to most of them living in or around the Cherry Hills section of town, and having paid huge contributions to the mayor's election campaigns.
The Mayor and Police Chief weren't so lucky, though. Even though they were fine Dims in good standing,it didn't help them a bit when undercover postal inspectors arrested them for conspiring with the Denver post master (also a member of the Denver Athletic Club) to sell new post office jeeps as surplus post office jeeps to the Mayor and Police Chief in rigged bidding. IIRC,all three went off to Club Fed for that one.
Seems like the post master that replaced that guy also went to federal prison for something, but I don't remember the details now.
BTW,these post masters were appointed.
