No way to know yet if the federal exchange is also seeing a 50 percent payment rate system-wide, but if it is, we’re looking at close to 500,000 people whose new coverage will begin tomorrow in some sort of limbo. Or maybe more, actually: At least one insurance company is seeing payment rates closer to 35 percent, and the Journal found one man who signed up in late November who still hasn’t been billed yet by his new insurer. That’s the fruit of chaos imposed on the industry by Obama and HHS in moving around deadlines haphazardly to protect themselves politically.
"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual." Thomas Jefferson
"If people can’t trust not only the executive branch but also don’t trust Congress, and don’t trust federal judges, to make sure that we’re abiding by the Constitution with due process and rule of law, then we’re going to have some problems here." - Barack Obama, June 7, 2013
So..a handful of people have paid. Wait until they go to the doctor and find that even tho they are paying their monthly premiums, they still have to pay full price, until their deductables are paid off.
According to what I read, the deductable for the bronze plan is $5,500 PER PERSON or $11,000 per family, per YEAR. Unless someone is very ill, or has to be hospitalized, people wont reach that amount in a year, meaning, they will spend several hundred dollars a month and still pay full price at the doctors office. Your average person, who never bought or used insurance, has no idea of what a deductable is, what a premium is or what a copay is...and they are signing up online, not getting all of this information explained to them. Wait until they begin trying to use this insurance. Do you think people will just toss their money to these insurance companies and pay for everything out of pocket? I see a whole lot of lapsed policies next year.

Now, they're holding out, expecting their messiah to make good on his implied promise.
I think it may be as much a case of this month's welfare checks haven't show up yet.
Neither have the bills for the insurance.
Just wait until all this starts to sink in and become real, and then watch the natives get restless.

ALL good points, but to really flesh this one out, let's all take it a step further and assume that SOME of these parasites just might be smart enough to figure out that what they have ended up with is essentially NO INSURANCE COVERAGE AT ALL,AND........,they are having to PAY for the insurance they don't have.
In addition to paying for the medical bills they will be getting, they are also going to have to pay the monthly insurance fees or pay fines for not having it.
I am sure that somehow or another, the collective decision is going to be made that it was "the white mans falts" this happened to them, though.

Right Pete..and I just mentioned, in another thread here, that these subsidies "could" be temporary..because if a persons status changes, (raise in pay, or increase in some other taxable income) they have to pay back their subsidy. Is that insane..or what? And..are they stating this to these online sign up people?
The more I read about this..the more I laugh. I am really sorry..because I know it is NOT funny. This is so bad, for everyone...including myself.
My husband works for this company for 35 years, that used to be successful before they were taken over by a pack of morons. I can make a list of the mistakes these jerks have made, that if explained to the average person, the reaction would be....they did what?
That said..they have been cutting things out left and right..trying to make people do for free, jobs they were previously paid extra for. My husband has been making several thousand dollars less than he did before they took over. They are grinding the business into the ground and losing customers.
So...my husband tells me that monday..they are having this all day meeting..lol The minute he said that..I said..well..there goes your insurance. I am dying to hear what these ass wipes are going to do with it. They dont have to provide any..since I dont think they have 50 people working for them anymore. We both have medicare..but if we didnt have this employee insurance (which my husband pays a good part of), we would need some kind of supplementary plan. We were tossing around, whether it was even worth it to us to buy one...even tho both of us are on meds..I cant imagine it all costing more than 10 grand a year, which I am not willing to hand over to some insurance company..and end up paying anyway. We have been insured since the late 60s. I cant believe I am thinking of ditching it now...at our ages.

This isn't due to stupidity on the governments part,it's do to purpose can careful planning. You are your husband are old and what you contribute now and will contribute in the future is more than you contribute,so they WANT you to get sick and die off. More profits for the people that really run things.

I dont plan on helping them by croaking any time soon. I have a very strong immune system..lol One thing they left out of their master plan, is anyone can still walk into any hospital and be treated. I am guessing these ERs are really going to be crammed with better dressed people who have a better grasp of the english language..lol
