Actually, I wasn't.

I don't bring it up often because I'm in a small minority even here and don't want to cause disturbances, but I know more about George W. Bush than most, and I respect him for both his character and integrity...........both qualities which are completely lacking in any Clinton or any Obama.

(I disagreed with a number of his policies).

The meanest person I have ever known has the tiniest most bitter heart. She revels in others' misfortune. She laughs when people that she knows suffer. This is because she is a miserable little creature with no joy or love in her heart. She wants everyone to experience the pain and discomfort that she does. Only then does she feel a glimmer of happiness.

She truly is pathetic and little with no regard for anyone other than herself. Her entire world view is "Let me get what I can, screw everyone else."

In her mind, Obama is a black man and she hates black people. But, she hears him and "He's talkin' bout the man spreadin' the wealth around." She thinks, "Yeah. Let me get some of that." She identifies with this ideology because it is greedy.

But don't you know kind, thinking people who have fallen for Obama?

They're the ones I'm completely baffled by.

Why doesn't their own moral integrity keep them from being liberals?

I understand those policy issues and disagreements with conservatives, but I was talking about a vast difference in personal integrity.

There truly is no comparison.

btw, I was on FR when the immigration hullaballoo happened, and know a bit about the situation, and the overstatement in emotion of Bush's guilt regarding immigration. Though I disagreed with his policy, the personal fury at him was absurd.

With that statement I will cease and desist. Just know that I am not alone among conservatives in not sharing a hatred for George W. Bush.

In fact, there are millions of us.

Personal integrity is meaningless when your policies mirror those of extremely low character. I also judge a man by the company he keeps. If you take note, the first people on the scene to bash Palin and Conservatives, besides the Leftists, are always Bush II administration people. They are also first to trash the Tea Party. Karl Rove, Dana Perino, David Frum, Steve Schmidt et al. All human debris. The only one in that administration worth any respect is Cheney.

Let's also remember that Bush was the one that set up 90% of the bailouts and Govt' take overs before Zero even was President. What a solid guy.

Because they have been suckered in my social justice. Churches are involved in this a good deal and communities. They want to give to the poor to help them out. But, they forget about teaching a man to fish so he'll never go hungry.

In my own church we have a food bank. There is a friction amongst us. We KNOW we are called to help others and we do. But, it is painful to watch food being handed out to the people who drive up and park in the parking lot with cars that are newer than the church members' and have Obama stickers on the bumpers. They come to us because they know we won't turn them away. We don't. We also know that we are financing their lack of initiative and dependency upon government largess and the church's call to give to the poor.

They know they are taking from us. They don't care. They haven't learned that they don't NEED what we freely give. They have raised on the entitlement mentality.

We know we are supposed to give with a cheerful heart. It makes us uncomfortable to know that we are being taken advantage of, but we still tithe and donate because that is what God has asked.

I put it this way recently... I may not think that this person or that person needs the food we give out. But if in that bag of food there is something that ends up in the stomach of a hungry child that the parent won't take responsibility to care for, then who am I to question God's way?

Orthodoxy SUCKS.

Frank, making wrong decisions or having differing views doesn't mean one lacks integrity. I disagreed with the bailouts. I disagreed with the rationale behind the bailouts.

I believe there are people who are not nearly as conservative as I am in policy who do not necessisarily lack integrity because of it.

And if you look just at Dick Cheney, you'll see an example of where I'm coming from.

He disagreed strongly on some issues, and yet continues to hold a deep respect for President Bush.

I have considered the matter extensively, and have studied the issues.

I disagree with his decisions, but still respect him because of the entire scope of his life, and not just his less-than-conservative policies.

I agree with his tax policy, and am mad that his tax cuts are over. I strongly agree with his unabashed, unyielding pro-life stance. I know how much he respects the military and how much they admired him as Commander in Chief.

I try to look at the whole picture, and come to my own conclusions, and we will have to agree to disagree on this.

Besides which, as brownsfan always said when war started Bush bashing (brownsfan was no fan of Bush's). "Bush is in the past. I'm not here to argue about him."

Yes, Olivia, it is sometimes difficult to say (without sounding like an elitist snob), but we are basically living within a country of semi-illiterate morons. That's why we have the government, culture, and society that we do (and is getting worse with each passing day).

One of the reasons that I don't bother to post or comment much anymore, aside from being a bit busier, is that it is almost too depressing and/or anger-inducing to read and speak truthfully about our current circumstance. (Often I just want to post swears and cusses but I don't since I don't want to offend the sensibilities of others that post here.)

You're not alone in the way you feel. Our schools have become a joke, nothing is taught because of disciplinary problems and our government has become the hand-out of our hard-earned money. My paycheck is seventeen dollars less in order to give others more money. I feel like cursing myself!

I used to be a patriot, but the country I loved is no more.

We didn't just lose a battle in 2012. We found out that we have lost the war.

That's why, for me, the answer is no longer in politics. We can't win.
