Eh, Romney has only himself to blame. He made all his friends campaign chiefs.

The guy who ran his campaign was a total incompetent. I remember thinking in late August of 2012... what the hell was Romney doing? I didn't see any ads or anything.

We were assured that ROmney would begin "carpet bombing" after the conventions.

WE all know how that turned out.

No argument with any of that, Palinista.

My only caution is that we can't lose sight of what the Dems are doing, because they are truly diabolical, just because we are mad at 'our own' and that they are failing us miserably.

For me it's a question of perspective. I still think a third party is dangerous. I still think reforming the Republican party from within is the answer.

However, after 2012, I'm far less optimistic that it can be done.

That's why I've backed off my involvement in politics significantly. I'm not sure the Tea Party or Tea Party concepts can succeed with the Republican elites' fighting against the people standing for the principles our country was founded on.

I'm not sure what the future holds, but no matter what, I'm never going to believe that any Republican is as deeply corrupt and treacherous as the majority of Dems are.

Our focus right now has to be on Obama and his Marxist, racist, eugenicist administration.

If the third party types were honestly serious about starting a viable party they would have been working in local and state elections to build the party from the ground up. The problem with the current third parties thinking is that they think they can elect a POTUS and get their agenda passed. It won't happen without some serious compromise which is anathema to the purists.

I don't know that focusing on Obama is enough when there is not enough push-back from the people that we elected to represent us.

I've given up on looking for my senators to grow a backbone and defend my rights.

Increasingly I think that my focus needs to turn to the state level and watch for green shoots of progress there, instead.

VERY good point, steph.

There is no activity at the local or state level challenging Republicans. They can't possibly succeed without local and state groups and the infrastructure to actually win campaigns.
