It really doesn't matter what any of us think about it. What matters is if the GOP should try to defund it (yes) and if the USSC should allow such a thing (probably).

I don't really see why the House should be forced to pass any new taxes whatsoever. They're lawmakers and other than the Constitution, they have no bounds and shouldn't.

In the end, the GOP really has nothing to lose and everything to gain. I wonder if our gutless turd leadership will give a damn.

Prohibition was imposed via the 18th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, not via congressional legislation.

In turn, amendments to the Constitution carry the same legal weight as the Constitution itself and are, thus, not subject to reveiw by the Supreme Court.

The amendment started by congressional vote just as did the repeal. So you are wrong, but get on with your support of Obama and obama care , how much are you charging for the support.

Silence and/or blind support will never have a chance to fix anything.

It reminds me of the old saying that goes something like: "The first step in fixing the problem is admitting that there is a problem."

(Not that I have a great deal of faith/hope that anything will ever change, but if you can't honestly address the problems, nothing will ever be done.)

My observations reading this thread is that he only wants to defend the GOP. They (the GOP) apparently can do no wrong with this guy. Talk about blind allegiance.

If it walks like a statist, acts like a statist, and talks like a statist........its probably a statist. Makes no difference what party you belong to if you defend statism that makes you a statist.

Our problem is no longer democrat vs. republican or even liberalism vs. conservatism. Our problem now is freedom vs. tyranny......statism vs. limited government....capitalism vs. outright communism. And statists are entrenched in BOTH parties. This is what we're fighting.

Not that he needs me defending him but I see Cedric as not participating, rather aggressively, in bashing the " home" team.

He chooses to see the positive in the elected republicans. That it gets personal is because some of us play rough, that's all.
