The Catholic Diocese in Pittsburgh said it has asked Carnegie Mellon University to discipline a coed who, naked from the waist down, dressed up as the pope.

In response to the diocese's request, the university said it is reviewing the incident and that it will take appropriate action if community standards or laws were violated.

Why the hell would Carnegie Mellon University give two shits what the Catholics have to say about anything? They are not a religious school. Doesn't the Catholic Diocese have anything better to deal with than college frat party costumes?

This was not a “frat party” (a private social function). According to the posted article, it was a “school parade” (an extremely public event sanctioned by the institution).

Your point is that, if a school is not “religious”, then it does not matter and an institution should not “give two shits” if Catholicism is publicly mocked in a XXX-Rated manner at a very public institutional event.

While we’re at it, why shouldn’t predominantly white Ole Miss University have “Thieving Hook-Nosed Jew” and “Bang the Black Slave Woman” floats at their Homecoming Parade? After all, Ole Miss is neither “religious” nor “black”. So, why should Ole Miss give “two shits” about what Jews and blacks say if they complain about what the institution tolerates at institutional events?

Fine.

Just keep in mind that, if there is anything that liberal (as in “most”) universities, the entertainment industry and the media hate more than Catholics who take their religion seriously, it is Protestants who take their religious seriously.

Mockery and hatred are tools of choice for the Left and they excel at using them. While those of us on the Right have been known to indulge in both from time to time, we seem to recognize that mockery and hatred aren't the right way to make your points.
The accusing finger from the Left accomodates within themselves a double standard, loose morals and corrupt practises. But the moral recognition that these are wrong behaviors, by us on the Right, makes the Left's accusations stick and become more powerful.

That's just the way it is....
