Issa just dismissed Lerner (IRS lady in charge of Cincy Tax Exempt Branch) after she gave an opening statement where she claimed her innocence and said she would not answer any questions under her 5th privilege. There was discussion by the Reps saying she gave up her rights by making an opening statements and should stay and answer questions. Issa dismissed her subject to recall after they figured out if she gave up those rights.

(She was a real hard nose, babe !! )

Top Democrat Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Maryland) admitted during a House hearing today that the IRS inappropriately and possibly illegally targeted conservative groups during the 2012 election.

Not one Tea Party group was granted tax exempt status for a period of 27 months before the election while numerous progressive groups were granted the privilege by the IRS.

I'm interested in that line of thought. I think that sneakypete made mention of that concept on some other thread. He said something about it would apply to their personal activity but not to their activities as public servants.

With all due respect, I believe Lerner is in legal jeopardy subject to penalties and/or criminal prosecution by the IRS. Prior to her testimony, IG George said, his report found that the IRS did indeed target and not act appropriately with the 501(c)(4) applications.
