NBC News’ Top Science Reporter: Something Fishy About Hillary Clinton Claiming She’s Being Treated For Blood Clots Related To Earlier Concussion…
The problem: Clinton’s office is saying she’s being treated with blood thinners and the clots are related to her supposed concussion, but blood clots from concussions can not be treated with blood thinners. Hmmmm.
Via Politico:
The top science reporter for NBC News raised questions Monday about Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s hospitalization, raising the possibility the blood clot causing isn’t linked to an earlier concussion.
“It’s not exactly clear what is happening with Secretary Clinton’s health,” NBC News chief science and health correspondent Robert Bazell said.
“All we have is a statement from her office. The hospital isn’t saying anything and the statement from her [office] says that she had this blood clot that stemmed from the concussion and she’s being treated with blood-thinning drugs,” Bazell continued. “The problem is that usually when blood clots come from concussions, they can’t be treated with blood [thinners.] So either it’s not really related to the concussion and she’s got a blood clot in her leg or something, or there’s something else going on that we’re not being told. And right now, we’re just sort of seeking that clarification and hoping for the best as she’s being observed.”

btw, does anyone know why you can't treat clots from concussions with blood thinners?
I'm not sure the blood thinners would cross the blood brain barrier. And, a concussion is a brain bruise - not necessarily a clot situation. I don't think a concussion causes a clot danger situation.
I think it depends upon where the clot is. If it's a subdural bleed, it's slower than a subarachnoid bleed, which is arteriolar. You don't necessarily have to have a clot evacuated; your body is dissolving clots all the time (autolysis). A clot in your head is treated differently from a clot in your heart which is treated differently from a clot in your lower extremity. Sorry I can't give you detail.

Odds are that the next gig for this reporter will be covering Punxatawney Phil's coming out party on Groundhog Day.
My MIL was in town for five days. She's a died in the wool Democrat, of the Carter, LBJ, FDR type. Nothing is going to dissuade her. She's in her eighties and we don't talk politics. All I know is that she likes Democrats and there is no way to talk her out of it. So, I don't say a lot.
This story of Hillary Clinton pops up. I say all the right things. I make sympathetic noises about Hillary's health. I talk about her age. I talk about the stress and strain of being Sec of State. I talk about the awesome responsibility of the job. I'm very kind and generous with everything I have to say about the woman. I am on my best behavior.
My husband wanders in and makes comments saying that he disbelieves the news accounts and that it is highly unlikely that she has had a concussion and now a blood clot when her testimony is needed.
His mother scoffs at him.
I politely leave the room, without ever trying to rescue him.
His mother goes on to tell him he's wrong and she defends Hillary Clinton admirably. She'll go on believing that the poor woman is ill and is in need of medical attention. She would never believe that Hillary Clinton has a deceitful bone in her body. She's an honorable and long-suffering servant of the people.
Orthodoxy SUCKS.
