Yes, the league has been very good at basically extending the game throughout the entire week during the season over time. What was once primarily a Sunday schedule, crept into Monday Nights with greatest success many years ago (early 70s I think, or actually may have been formalized as a regular ABC event during the AFL-NFL merger).

Thanksgiving Thursday games dated back to the earliest years of football with many rivalries scheduling an annual tilt on Thanksgiving. With the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, two regularly scheduled games emerged, the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions would each play an annual Thanksgiving game. That tradition held until the mid 2000s when the league started to add a couple of more games that evolved into what has become the regularly scheduled game of Thursday Night Football every week of the season (which remains somewhat controversial owing to the fact the broadcast on the NFL Network is still not universally available throughout the country as a non-Premium cable station).

Of course Sunday expanded into Sunday Night Football in the late 1980s and remains a top national game for the league to the present. And on occasion there will be a game scheduled on another day of the week depending on how the Christmas Holiday falls on the calender. (Except for special circumstances, the league is prevented (actually within their antitrust exemption and the SBA of 1961) from airing games on Friday nights and Saturday to avoid conflicts with high school and college football games and broadcasts. Although the league has been able to obtain permission to broadcast late season Saturday games in the regular season for "special" circumstances.) Of course the Playoffs begin after the regular College football schedule ends and Saturday day and night games are a part of the regular playoff schedule now.

So you can see how well the NFL has expanded their "once a week" footprint into what has become a virtual "all week" venture for many through the entire regular season now!! And having given you all of that as answer to your one word question, aren't you convinced to join the fun here next season???
