Sorry, it just ain't that hard. Our people need to do much, much better.
Sigh...you don't understand, Cedric. The GOP is NEVER going to get favorable media coverage. Never-EVER. The media consists of almost all committed leftists, so fugeddaboudit.
The GOP needs to go on the offensive, take command of the agenda with fresh strategies, simple but effective talking points, and powerful advertising and memorable images. They also need much, much better spokespeople who are able to communicate conservative messages to the Sheeple.
My line of work (paralegal) puts me among the Sheeple every day and I never let an opportunity pass to promote conservatism in a way that resonates with them. Trust me, it ain't that hard. I do believe the majority of the country is still conservative...they just don't know it.
The Republicans just need to get out of the ivory tower, get their heads out of the clouds, and get the agenda out. Unfortunately some are not all that conservative. OTOH, I always consider the alternative.
Finally, they must quit turning the other cheek, take off the dainty white gloves, and fight back. Heartily. Every...single...time.
Okay, off my soapbox now.
“When the government fears the people there is liberty; When the people fear the government there is tyranny."
"Finally, they must quit turning the other cheek, take off the dainty white gloves, and fight back. Heartily. Every...single...time."
Due to the nature of their enemy this is quite true. Recently Harry Reid's office leaked to the press confidential emails that Boner sent him.
"The leaks, which are a major taboo in Washington,.."
So clearly this is DIRTY ALL OUT WAR!!!
No more Mr Nice Guy!!!
No more "My Friends"!!!
"One email even appears to show that Boehner’s office discussed how it would disguise a planned meeting on the subject with President Barack Obama as a meeting on immigration reform, National Review Online reported."
Any questions?
To think Republicans can cooperate with boneheads like this idiotic Reid? And then for Boner to even propose in writing something so underhanded to a bonehead like Reid? That takes even MORE of a bonehead.
The bureaucracy: the new fourth branch of government. The bureaucracy is permanent, unaccountable, unelected and choking us like a weed. The bureaucrat exists, generating nothing of value, using perceived problems to justify his existence.
Quote: Cedric wrote in post #20 Neither the article nor any of the comments explain how the GOP can get favorable media coverage.
On the final leg of my 10 mile run (at a world class pace) I heard the ABC top of the hour news.
They had four shutdown related stories: Two were pro-Obama; two were anti-Boehner.
Was your 10 mile run to make it to elementary school on time because you missed the short bus? Geez. GOP isn't getting favorable coverage? Guess what. They NEVER got favorable coverage. Remember any of the 70's and 80's when Reagan was excoriated day after day? How about Nixon, Ford and Bush 1 who rolled over for the Rats on a daily basis and were destroyed in the press for being incompetent and evil? Get real.

Of course, then again, sometimes didn't even help themselves get decent press.
